Meghna Gulzar on Thursday unveiled the first look of her film on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw with Vicky Kaushal playing the character of India’s hero of the 1971 war against Pakistan. In the first look of the film, Vicky is seen posing as Field Marshal Manekshaw sitting in his office.
While sharing the photo on the death anniversary of Field Marshal Manekshaw, who led the India Army to pull off a spectacular victory against Pakistan in 1971, Meghna wrote, “A Soldier’s Soldier. A Gentleman’s Gentleman. In remembrance, on the death anniversary of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. It is my honour to tell the story of one of India’s greatest war heroes, with @vickykaushal09 essaying the historic man!”
Meghna sharing the first look of her film on Manekshaw came on a day social media was flooded with the outpour of messages remembering one of India’s iconic military heroes.

Vicky too shared the first look of his film with a message paying tribute to Manekshaw, “The swashbuckling general & the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Meghna has already clarified that the film on Manekshaw was not a biopic. This is the third time that Vicky will be seen playing the character of an army man after Raazi and Uri.
